Experience God’s Love

Paul’s prayer in Eph 3:16 is so great to pray to experience the Father’s love. It is a huge focus in those in the prayer movement and it should be in each believers life as well. Most Christians want to experience more of Gods love. Well here you go!

I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Eph 3:15 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
Eph 3:17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;
that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
Eph 3:18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height–
Eph 3:19 to experience the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

This prayer details a progression of growing in His love that begins by praying that He increases our innerman’s capacity so we can experience more of His Holy Spirit. The way Paul describes it is being strengthened with might in the innerman. The Holy Spirit dwells in the innermost man, but when we experience Him it is in the innerman. By strengthening this we enlarge it and are able to recieve more of God, but also have greater strength to choose holiness.

So pray daily to the father, Root me and ground me in your love.  Strengthen me with Might.  Let me experience your love for me.  Let me be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Also though I must warn that your hunger for God will increase as well. Many don’t realize this right away and try to answer the hunger with food, tv or something besides God. The real answer is Jer 29:13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Comprehending the width length, depth.. What that means is that we can keep growing in it and we will always be able to grow more. We will even pray this in heaven -I like what C.S. Lewis said about heaven, we will continually grow incrementally in the knowledge of God’ and that is for billions and billions of years, and it’d be only the beginning.
