Much harm has been done directly or indirectly since the Church at large began subscribing to the false theological view of replacement theology, that the prophesies for Israel are changed to now be for the Christian church instead.. The attempt to spiritualize scriptures and transfer their covenants to the Church has been disastrous and brought great division to the Body of Christ. The Apostle Paul was adamant that God had not replace Israel:
I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! … God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. (Romans 11:1-2)
UNDERSTANDING GOD’S PLAN CONCERNING ISRAEL
25 I do not desire…that you should be ignorant of this mystery…that blindness in part has happened to
Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 So all Israel will be saved… (Rom. 11:25-26)
God’s mystery refers to His “secret plan” that He hid in His heart through the ages. In Rom. 11, Paul gives insight into how God will release His worldwide salvation purposes related to Israel. We must understand God’s plan in order to cooperate with it. Israel has a temporary spiritual blindness even to this day (v. 25). Their blindness includes not being able to see Jesus as their Messiah as well as their unique hostility against Him. This will create the context for the Gentiles to provoke Israel to jealousy. Israel’s rejection of Jesus is not total (Rom. 11:1-10) and it is not final (Rom. 11:11-32).
The Fullness of the Gentiles is the fullness of the Church. The fullness of the Gentiles (v. 25) will provoke Israel to seek Jesus for salvation (v. 11). The fullness of the Gentiles includes the full number being saved, who walk in the fullness of power and godly character. To be provoked to godly jealousy means that Israel will desire what Gentile believers have spiritually. The Church will provoke Israel to jealousy when Israel is persecuted in the end times: by risking their lives in providing refuge for Jewish people in flight; by sharing resources with them; by performing miracles like Elijah and Elisha did, such as multiplying food, healing the sick, and prophesying, etc.
Jesus’ return is contingent on Jewish people turning to Him. Literally all Israel will be saved in the context of Jesus’ return and the Millennium. This means that 100% of the Jewish people who survive the Tribulation will believe in Jesus. Israel will be the first nation that is totally saved.
19 Repent…be converted, that your [Israel] sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, 20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you [Israel]…21 whom heaven must receive [retain] until the times of restoration of all things [Millennium] which God has spoken by…His holy prophets… (Acts 3:19-21)
Israel’s blindness does not mean she has permanently “fallen” from her original national calling to have the primary leadership role in the earth in the Millennium. If the Church is ignorant of the temporary “blindness” on Israel then we will wrongly conclude that God is finished with them, instead of laboring for their salvation and full destiny in God.
Isaiah 62:6 I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem …
The prayer movement is built on posted watchmen, intercessors for the church and the nations and especially Israel. God has zeal that His people come to the saving knowledge of Jesus and be Messianic believers. As Christians we say “Your people are my people.” The bible says their eyes are blinded to Him, so we pray Eph 1:18 for them, that the Holy Spirit would enlighten their eyes, and Eph 1:17 that He would give them wisdom and revelation. Ihop-kc was established near Harry S. Truman’s boyhood home, we are spiritual intercessors for Israel, just as he was a political intercessor for Israel, in the natural.
18 Do not boast against the branches…20 Do not be haughty, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches [Israel], He may not spare you either. 22 Consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off…25 I do not desire…that you be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion… (Rom. 11:18, 20-22, 25)
We must not remain in ignorance (v. 25) because ignorance can become arrogance, which can become passive resistance (being silent in refusing to stand for Israel), then active resistance (helping to persecute Israel), which will then lead to being cut off by God (v. 22). Paul calls us to continue in God’s goodness (v. 22), in part by embracing God’s purpose for Israel.
God promises to work and not rest until His promises towards Jerusalem are fulfilled:
1 For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness and her salvation as a lamp that burns. (Isa. 62:1)
So all Israel will be saved… (Rom. 11:25-26)
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you.” (Ps. 122:6)
House of Prayer
“Also the sons of the foreigner (Gentile Intercessors) who join themselves to the Lord (heart), to serve Him, … 7 Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer… (Isaiah 56:6-7)
God is clearly taking the initiative to gather an army of Gentile Intercessors who will engage in serious non-stop prayer for the Jewish people (Isa 62:6-7). Those who we pray for are those who we will fall in love with. There is a strong sense of divine partnership transpiring in these verses. The rewards are two-fold: (1) Spiritual download of increased presence (2) A fresh impartation of joyful resolve to press further into the will of God. Praying for the nations makes sense to us, praying for Israel can stir our pride a little. But He has not cast them off. Ultimately His heart is for them to come to Him and the prophesies of the bible puts Israel in the middle of His plans, not America or the church, though the American church is crucial and He loves us equally.
Asking God what He is saying to us about intercession is so wise. Once we’ve got that down asking about the nations and Israel falls right into place.
The Forerunner Call
1 “Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your God .2“Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her (in passionate intercession), that her warfare is ended (future reality), that her iniquity is pardoned (future reality); for she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins (future reality).”(Isaiah 40:1-2)
Gentile believers are exhorted to make strong prophetic decree’s speaking forth the future destiny of the Jewish people. This is a picture of the End Time Church walking in Romans 4:17 reality–by faith–speaking about things that don’t currently exist in the natural realm as though they did … operating with bold confidence that what they are speaking will surely be brought to pass. God is yearning for a people to be raised up that join Him in intimate partnership so together we can pray in His heart’s desire over Israel. (See Judges 5:12)
Understand the sobering reality for those who choose not to stand with Israel – Matthew 25:31-40.
Prayerful consideration: Prayerfully seek the Lord about partnering (prayer/finances/etc.) with a Messianic Ministry that is making an impact in Israel today. You will be blessed in the exchange of ideas as you connect with an entirely different culture. ReviveIsrael, and Tikkun do amazing things.
Be open to the Holy Spirit’s leading to visit a Messianic congregation in your area just to introduce yourself to them as one who is on a journey of discovery and who will pray for them.

Share your faith with unbelieving Jewish people.
Pursue a clear understanding about end-time events as Israel is in the vortex of those disruptive times. Our Saturday evening classes on the End Times can be viewed live on the Internet via web-streaming. We have an Omega Series that is available to encourage fellowship, Bible Study, and group discussion. The subject of Israel is woven through the entire series.
In your quiet time ask God to give you a spirit of revelation about His heart for the Jewish people. A simple but helpful practice is to begin to add the phrase, “and bless the Jewish people today,” to prayers for other subjects. The point is not the quantity or volume but creating the habit of mentioning the Jewish people.
