I had to share this article here below, its long but worth reading the whole thing. The anger and condescension that I am seeing from Christians and disrespect towards other races cannot be pleasing to the Lord I don’t think. Liberal-bashing is not a Christian practice. Neither is Trump-supporter bashing.
I believe the Lord is doing something in America with politics. He is shaking us and testing our foundation, our stability, our heart connect. He is using the current climate to see which Kingdom we are of, and testing our compassion. There are attitudes Americans have about race that he wants to bring into alignment with His attitudes. We know there are places where liberal politics are not aligned with Christianity. And yes the Lord is highlighting that are actually places where conservative politics are not aligned with Christianity. The issues of Race, refugees, Muslims, and black lives matter are being used to test us around compassion. How susceptible have we been to the Republican gospel in the fault lines where it did align with what the Lord was saying? How often did we ask?
Some say we would have had Black lives matter a long time ago if we had camera phones back then. That said many police officers risk their lives and are quite noble and unprejudiced.
We must move from Republican minded to Kingdom minded and turn off the memes and news stories and articles that rile us up and begin to hear the Lord around the heart of compassion. It’s going to get a lot worse, it’s the hour for the Church to Shine in the Darkness!!
